András Adorján

András Adorján was born in Budapest in 1944, grew up in Copenhagen, and has lived in Munich since 1974. After obtaining a dentistry diploma in Copenhagen in 1968, he completed musical studies under Jean-Pierre Rampal and Aurèle Nicolet. He is a laureate of many international flute competitions (Montreux 1968, Paris 1971) and the principal flutist of many renowned European symphony orchestras. In 1987, he began teaching the flute at the Musikhochschule in Cologne. From 1996 until 2013 he also taught at the Musikhochschule in Munich, and in 2018 he became an Honorary Professor at the Schnittke Institute of Music in Moscow. During his career, he recorded over a hundred albums and was the co-editor of the music encyclopedia Flute Lexicon (de. Lexikon der Flöte), published in 2009. He has won numerous awards, including the Jacob Gade Award in Copenhagen (1968), the Deutsche Schallplattenkritik Award (1988), the Doppler-Ring Award of the Hungarian Flutist Society (1996) and the Italian Premio di Carriera Award (2007). He was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award of the American National Flute Association (NFA) in 2018, and with the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Chinese Flute Association (CFA) in 2019.

 

András Adorján rođen je u 1944. godine Budimpešti, odrastao u Kopenhagenu, a od 1974. godine živi u Münchenu. Nakon završenog studija stomatologije 1968. godine, posvetio se studiju flaute u klasama profesora Jeana-Pierrea Rampala i Aurèlea Nicoleta. Laureat je mnogih međunarodnih flautističkih natjecanja (Montreal 1968, Pariz 1971) te vodeći flautist značajnih europskih simfonijskih orkestara. Godine 1987. počeo je predavati flautu na Visokoj školi za glazbu u Kölnu. U razdoblju od 1996. do 2013. predavao je i na Visokoj školi za glazbu u Münchenu, a 2018. godine postao je počasnim profesorom moskovskog Schnittke Instituta za glazbu. Tijekom svoje karijere snimio je preko sto nosača zvuka te je bio kourednik glazbene enciklopedije Leksikon za flautu (njem. Lexikon der Flöte) objavljene 2009. godine. Dobitnik je brojnih nagrada, među kojima su Jacob Gade nagrada u Kopenhagenu (1968), nagrada Deutsche Schallplattenkritik (1988), Doppler-Ring nagrada mađarskog društva flautista (1996) te talijanska nagrada Premio di carriera (2007). Dobitnik je čak dviju nagrada za životno djelo – godine 2018. tu mu je nagradu dodijelilo Američka nacionalna udruga flautista, a 2019. godine nagradu je primio od strane Kineske udruge flautista.
