Kyle Dzapo profesorica je flaute i glazbene povijesti na Sveučilištu Bradley u Peoriji, Illinois, SAD, gdje je također dvadeset godina bila prva flautistica Simfonijskog orkestra Peoria. Aktivna kao izvođačica, autorica i predavačica, održala je recitale u Londonu, Danskoj, Francuskoj i Južnoj Koreji, nastupala u izravnim radijskim prijenosima za Wisconsin Public Radio i čikaški WFMT te u dvorani Bruno Walter u sklopu Lincoln Centra.
Njezina najnovija knjiga, Joachim Andersen: Flutist, Conductor, and Composer of More than the Etudes, koju potpisuje zajedno s Andrásom Adorjánom i Williamom Wilsen, nedavno je objavljena u izdanju Oxford University Pressa. Istodobno je izdavačka kuća Musikverlag Zimmermann objavila njezino novo izdanje Andersenova Au bord de la mer, Op. 9 — šesto u njihovoj seriji „Kyle Dzapo Series“ posvećenoj Andersenovim djelima.
Predavačica je uvodnih predavanja (pre-concert lectures) za Simfonijski orkestar u Chicagu, bila je programska direktorica i predsjednica Upravnog odbora Nacionalne flautističke udruge (National Flute Association), a na Sveučilištu Bradley nagrađena je za svoj znanstveni i pedagoški rad.
Doktorirala je glazbu na Sveučilištu Northwestern, gdje je bila studentica i asistentica Walfrida Kujale; magistrirala je na New England Conservatory s najvišim priznanjem za izvedbu (Distinction in Performance), a diplomirala na Sveučilištu Michigan s najvišom pohvalom (High Distinction).
Kyle Dzapo is Professor of Flute and Music History at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, USA, where she also served as principal flutist of the Peoria Symphony for 20 years. Active as a performer, author, and speaker, she has presented recitals in London, Denmark, France, and South Korea, on live broadcasts for Wisconsin Public Radio and Chicago’s WFMT, and at Lincoln Center’s Bruno Walter Auditorium. Her latest book, Joachim Andersen: Flutist, Conductor, and Composer of More than the Etudes, co-authored with András Adorján and William Wilsen, has recently been published by Oxford
University Press. At the same time, Musikverlag Zimmermann has published her new edition of Joachim Andersen’s Au bord de la mer, Op. 9, the sixth in their “Kyle Dzapo Series” of Andersen publications. She is a pre-concert lecturer for the Chicago Symphony, has served as Program Chair and President of the Board of the National Flute Association, and has been recognized with awards for both scholarship and teaching at Bradley University. She earned a Doctor of Music degree from Northwestern University where she was a student and teaching assistant of Walfrid Kujala, a master’s degree with Distinction in Performance from New England Conservatory, and an undergraduate degree with High Distinction from the University of Michigan.
